A conversation about Native American Heritage Month with Directors Claude and Roberto Jackson

For the project we interviewed Directors Claude Jackson and Roberto Jackson who are best known for therir recent film In Circles which premiered in 2015. Although this film is a Native American production and takes place on a reservation, the story is common to millions of young economically and often racially challenged Americans as they come of age and begin adulthood. In Circles is about young man returns to the Gila River Indian Community after struggling in inner city Phoenix. As he reacquaints with old friends and tries to move on with his life on the reservation, he finds out it’s not that easy. His loyalty to old friends and the temptations of gang and drug culture complicate his plans for building a better life.
